Betaori is a two-player abstract strategy game where players go head to head to eliminate opposing tokens from the board. It is played on a grey grid square of 6×6 with players on opposites sides of the game board. One player has white tokens and the other has blue tokens (commonly made of glass beads). Players take turns playing all their routes (moves), and the game continues until one side has eliminated all of the opposing tokens from play.
The game was designed to incorporate variable movement patterns (like in chess) with identical game pieces (like in go or checkers). Betaori is also intended to be very simple in terms of mechanics, yet provide plenty of options for strategy.
